The coaches will receive new seating, luggage-racks and lighting; and 21 locomotive-hauled coaches will be converted to make them compatible with the electrical systems of the power cars. • Westinghouse Rail Systems has won three signalling contracts associated with upgrading the cross-London Thameslink route - a project whose signalling alone is expected to be worth a total of £75 million. CanadaCanadian Pacific Railway will test two environmentally-friendly locomotives from National Railway Equipment Company (NREC), United States, in a bid to reduce its exhaust emissions.ChinaCNR Dalian, China, has been awarded a contract to supply 23 six-car trains for Line 2 in Tianjin. The 23km east-west line from Limingzuhang to Caozhuang is currently under construction.GermanyAlstom is to install its Atlas European Train Control System equipment on 10 ICE-3 trains operated by German Rail (DB) used on cross-border services to the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
