Project to purchase subway vehicles — MR-08 Project
INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC NOTICE

The Société de transport de Montréal informs the international market that it will launch a public tender process regarding the acquisition of pneumatic subway vehicles to replace its 336 first generation vehicles of the MR-63 series delivered in 1965 and 1966.

In that respect, the Société shall invite the suppliers who expressed an interest in the project to an information session.

It must be noted that the Government of Quebec shall use its authority to impose conditions on its participation in the financing of such acquisition. The government has in fact announced on March 19 of this year that it will subject its financial contribution to the inclusion, in the tender process which will be launched by the Société, among other conditions, of the requirement (i) of a minimum of 60% Canadian content, taking guidance from the calculation methodology of Section 661.11 of Title 49 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, but including the final assembly process, and (ii) that the final assembly take place in Canada.

Interested subway vehicle manufacturers should, before May 23, 2008, contact the representative of the Service de l’approvisionnement of the Société de transport de Montréal whose coordinates are as follows :
