The Casa Tram consortium of RATP Dev, Moroccan Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) and holding company Transinvest was awarded a €90m contract five-year contract in July 2012 to operate and maintain Line 1 from Ennassim to Ain Diab and Facultés. Casa Tram subsequently outsourced maintenance to Alstom, which had already supplied rolling stock, electrification and signalling for the 30.7km line.
Alstom told IRJ that Casa Tram will now take over responsibility for maintenance and Alstom Morocco will take all necessary steps to ensure the transition is implemented smoothly.
Alstom employs 40 staff at the purpose-built LRV depot at Sidi Moumen.
