INECO has announced that it will undertake a feasibility study of a proposed Egyptian high-speed line, linking the cities of Cairo and Luxor. The 600km long corridor would connect the two largest cities of the country, with the aim of strengthening tourism infrastructure.

Mr Jesus Silva, Ineco's president, met with Egyptian minister of transport, Mr Hany Dahy, on May 27, to discuss Egyptian plans to modernise their rail networks. These projects seek to further improve high-capacity transport, including the Alexandria metro and Cairo metro lines 4, 5 and 6.
