The series 70000 trains will feature a panoramic section in the outer cars and 1m-high ribbon glazing along the length of the train. To provide high ride quality, the trains will be equipped with electric-hydraulic hybrid full active suspension. Each 142m-long set will seat 400 passengers
The two trains will enter service in March 2018, coinciding with the completion of four-tracking on the Yoyogi-Uehara - Noborito line. This will enable the introduction of a revised timetable with increased Romancecar services.
