The new 6.6km double-track line with six stations will act as an extension to metro Line 8, and will connect the terminal station of Shendu Highway with Pujiangzhen, a large residential area. The extension is due to open in December 2017.
The joint venture will be responsible for the electric and mechanical element of the project. This includes supplying a fleet of 11 four-car Innovia APM 300 trains, installation of CityFlo 650 communications-based train control (CBTC), and provision of an operations control centre.
