The 26.6km 22-station Line 2 links Meiyuan Kaiyuan Temple in the west with Anzhen in the east, intersecting with the north-south Line 1 at Sanyang Plaza station.

Services are operated by a fleet of 120m-long six-car Type B metro trains supplied by CSR Puzhen.

Wuxi opened its first metro line in July and the city ultimately intends to build a five-line network totalling 157.7km with 111 stations.
