The work involves supporting government-owned infrastructure manager Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) to manage and deliver design and construction works by providing a core team of management and administrative personnel, and a pool of engineering experts, which collectively will:

• lead the development and management of core engineering requirement documents and processes
• support the development of tender documents for feasibility design, detailed design and construction works packages
• lead and manage the review and acceptance of design submissions, and
• support technical and engineering requirements during construction and commissioning of work packages

"Inland Rail is now very much in the planning and environmental approvals phase and the company that is chosen to deliver technical advisory and engineering services will provide a team of experts to guide the engineering requirements for the project," says Mr Warren Truss, deputy prime minister and minister for infrastructure and regional development.

ARTC is developing the project and will manage the tender process. A tender briefing will be held in Brisbane on November 13 to give prospective bidders the opportunity to ask questions of the Inland Rail team.
