Zürich Flexity LRV mock-up unveiled

ZÜRICH Public Transport (VBZ) unveiled a mock-up of its forthcoming Bombardier Flexity low-floor LRV on April 24.

CRRC Qingdao Sifang confirmed on April 24 that it has signed a $US 277.9m contract with Argentina’s Ministry of Transport to supply 200 EMU cars for the Buenos Aires suburban network.

Darmstadt tram extension approved

DARMSTADT Regional Council has approved a planning application for a 1.1km extension of the city’s metre-gauge tram network to the Darmstadt Technical University campus on Lichtwiesenweg in the south of the city.

DETAILS of a new fleet of high-speed trains to serve venues for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics were revealed by China Railway Corporation (CRC) on April 23.

Ostrava receives first Stadler Tango LRV

THE first Tango NF2 LRV for the standard-gauge tram network in Ostrava arrived in the Czech city on April 23 after completing its road journey from Stadler’s Siedlce plant in eastern Poland.

Qingdao opens 120km/h metro line

QINGDAO opened its first suburban metro line on April 23 with the start of passenger operation on Line 11.

FRANKFURT Rhine-Main Vehicle Management (Fahma), a subsidiary of Rhine-Main Transport Authority (RMV), published a tender notice in the Official Journal of the European Union on April 20 for a contract to supply a fleet of hydrogen fuel cell multiple units for regional services on non-electrified lines in the Taunus area of Hessen.
