Colombia studies coal line
The Colombian government is studying two options for financing the 330km Carare coal railway, following the completion of feasibility studies in March.
The National Planning department says a public or privately-funded initiative would be acceptable. Votorantim Metais, a Brazilian company which controls the local PazdelRío steelmaker has signed a partnership deal with Corporcarare Corporation to take the project forward.
