Comsa receives first railway contract in Uruguay

The works include the replacement of 562,000m of rail, 136,000 wooden sleepers, and more than 100,000m³ of ballast.

The modernisation also includes alignment works, levelling, and bridge reinforcement. The Piedra Sola – Salto Grande line is mainly used for freight traffic.

The project is being financed by the Mercosur Convergence Fund and is due to be completed within two years.
