The locomotives will be built at Stadler’s Valencia plant in Spain and will be designed for operation at up to 5000m above sea level. The locomotives will have acoustic and heat-insulated cabs to cope with the extreme climate.

Stadler says the locomotives will have a maximum speed of 100km/h and will combine high output with low fuel consumption.

FCA will mainly use the locomotives to haul freight trains.
