The order, which is being financed by Il-de-France transport authority Stif, is part of a framework contract for up to 372 trains, which was signed in 2006. The trains will be assembled at Bombardier’s Crespin facility in Haute-de-France with deliveries due to begin in early 2018.

The order will take the total number of Francilien sets operating on Transilien services out of Saint Lazare to 134.

Stif says it plans to exercise options for more Franciliens by 2018, which will provide a single modern fleet for all suburban services for Saint Lazare as well as additional trains for Line P as part of the extension of electrification to Provins.
