The upgrading of the Warsaw - Lublin line is the largest rail project ever financed by the EIB. In addition to increasing line speeds for freight and passenger traffic, the work will also boost capacity for regional and suburban services around Warsaw and Lublin.

The North Sea – Baltic Corridor runs from Belgium and Netherlands to Finland via Germany, Poland, Baltic States, linking Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam with the Baltic ports of Klaipeda, Riga, Tallinn, and Helsinki.
