DANISH infrastructure manager Banedanmark marked the completion of its project to electrify the Lundeskov - Esbjerg line on August 6 with a special electric run for invited guests on the 57km route.

Work began on the project in 2014 and involved the installation of 1614 masts and more than 200km of wire.

Completion of the project will enable through operation of electric services between Copenhagen and Esbjerg, although many services will remain diesel-worked until Danish State Railways (DSB) takes delivery of new electric locomotives and EMUs.
