A new 150m-long-three track workshop will be constructed for the maintenance and overhaul of fixed-formation trains. The existing workshops will also be upgraded with refurbishment of the buildings and the installation of new cranes covering a 5000m2 floor area and a new train lifting system, which SBB says will improve working conditions for staff and increase productivity.
Construction is due to start in the autumn and the project will be completed in 2018.
