BALFOUR Beatty has purchased Omnicom Engineering, a British company specialising in on-board video and laser surveying, inspection and monitoring systems, for an undisclosed sum.

Omnicom Engineering was founded in 1995 and its customers include Britain’s infrastructure manager Network Rail and Australian rail freight operator Aurizon. The company’s co-founder and CEO Mr Stirling Kimkeran will continue with Balfour Beatty Omnicom where he will be responsible for technical sales.
“Omnicom Engineering is a true innovator which is benefiting from over 20 years of investment in research and development,” says Mr Mark Bullock, managing director of Balfour Beatty’s British rail business. “We will leverage this expertise alongside the high-speed laser measurement technology that already exists within Balfour Beatty, to provide unrivalled technical solutions to clients in the growing high-speed and unattended data collection market in which we see opportunities for increasing our business.”
