The companies will become part of the same group and the merger will be completed by the end of 2017. The combined companies will be owned by Areva (50%), EDG (25%), and IFP (25%).

The new company will take the name of Corys SAS, have 350 employees world-wide and will be based in Grenoble, France.

The companies say that an added benefit will be “the stability provided by increased diversity of revenue sources.”

“The merger of Corys and RSI is an ambitious project and achieves our strategic objective to become the global leader in dynamic simulation,” says Mr Ralf Gathmann, CEO of Corys. “While any merger presents challenges, the similar cultures of RSI and Corys will facilitate the process.”
