FRAUSCHER Sensor Technology, Austria, announced on October 24 that it has been acquired by New York-based Greenbriar Equity Group, for an undisclosed sum.

Frauscher was acquired in conjunction with its existing management team which is led by CEO Mr Michael Thiel.

Greenbriar says it will support Frauscher’s expansion into North America, and the investment will strengthen the company’s position as an independent supplier of train monitoring solutions, accelerating the development of the new Frauscher Tracking Solutions (FTS) system, which is based on distributed acoustic sensing technology.

“This is an exciting time for the entire Frauscher organisation,” Thiel says. “We are eager to work with Greenbriar as our new partner to continue to implement our growth strategy.”
