Issued by the Belgian Railway Safety Authority (SCCIF), the certification allows Europorte to increase its reach in Belgium. The company has already started direct services up to six times a week from the quarry at Lessines to cement works at Obourg, and considers Belgium as an area of great potential growth due to its location in Europe and Antwerp's status as one of Europe's largest ports.
"Europorte is seeking to become a major player in European railfreight," says Mr François Coart, Europorte development director. "The certification granted by the Belgian authorities allows us to directly manage our expansion in Belgium."
