AnsaldoBreda sues NS over cancelled Fyra contract

ANSALDOBREDA has filed a lawsuit in a court in Utrecht, Netherlands, against NS Financial Services and Netherlands Railways (NS) for failing to fulfil their obligations under the contract for the 16 V250 high-speed trains which AnsaldoBreda supplied for the now-aborted Amsterdam - Brussels Fyra service.

AnsaldoBreda is seeking damages related to breach of contract by NS. It is also asking for payment of €132m for the seven trains which it has yet to supply to NS under the original contract.

AnsaldoBreda refutes the allegations made by NS over the poor reliability of the V250 trains which NS cited as its reason for cancelling the contract and requesting the removal of the trains. AnsaldoBreda says it has addressed the issues regarding poor reliability.
