The two consortia comprise Malaysian Resources-Gamuda, which will be responsible for the northern portion of the alignment, and Syarikat Pembenaan Yeoh Tiong Lay-TH Properties, which will take care of the southern portion. The contracts will be awarded when MyHSR concludes negotiations with the consortia.

MyHSR says the two consortia will be involved throughout the planning, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.

“We are pleased to have selected two very capable consortia to work on the project,” says Mr Mohd Nur Ismal bin Mohamed Kamal, CEC of MyHSR. “The PDPs will bring both local and international experience, through their own experience in building railways in the country and through partnerships with HSR experts.

The new line is due to open in 2026.
