Texas Central says it will work with Fluor and Lane to refine and update the project’s construction planning and sequencing, scheduling and cost estimates, procurement and other design and engineering activities relating to the line’s civil infrastructure.

Following the completion of the development phase and financial close, Fluor and Lane would be the preferred design-build contractor for the project.

The 390km line will link the Dallas/fort Worth area with Houston in around 90 minutes, with trains serving a single intermediate station in the Brazos valley. The project will be entirely financed by private investors and no federal or state support will be sought for construction, operation or maintenance.

Texas Central says the Federal Railroad Administration is continuing to work on an environmental impact statement, which will help to define the project timeline and final alignment.
