The trams also successfully travelled over new connections in Török utca and Frankel Leó utca, which connect the former Line 17 with lines 4 and 6.

Scheduled services will start operating over both new links in the middle of January, running at a minimum interval of 15 minutes on each line to provide headways of no more than eight minutes on the northern section between Margithíd/Margit körút and Bécsi út. However, due to the rebuilding of the tunnel under Lánchíd (the Chain Bridge) to accommodate the new CAF Urbos low-floor LRVs, passengers will have to walk a short distance between trams until the summer of 2016.

When the project is completed, services will operate from Bécsi út via Széll Kálmán tér and Villányi út to Savoya park (Line 17), from Bécsi út via Batthyány tér to an interchange with mainline services and metro Line 4 at Kelenföld (Line 19) and from Bécsi út via Batthyány tér to Kamaraerdő (Line 41).
