Two of the 34m-long vehicles are currently in passenger operation, although the number will increase as further deliveries are made.
The current order is for 35 shorter trams, each 34m long, and 12 longer vehicles which will be 56m long surpassing the fleet of 40 55m-long Siemens Combino Supra LRVs, which were the last major purchase by Budapest Transport Company (BKV) in 2006. The shorter trams accommodate up to 200 passengers, 46 of them seated, while the longer vehicles, will accommodate 345 passengers, 81 of them seated.
The first of the longer CAF trams started night-time testing on the evening of September 18 and is likely to enter service in March 2016.
