The contracts are worth a combined Dirhams 192m ($US 52m).

Engie will deploy its Navineo system on the new T2 line and T1 extension, making it possible to handle real-time operations from the control room while providing real-time information to passengers at stations and on trains.

For both lines Engie will install signalling equipment as well as CCTV, intercom systems, public address, access control and fire detection systems.

The T1 tram line will be extended by 1.8km to 23.5km serving 37 stations. Line T2 will be 22.5km long, serving 33 stations including two interchanges with Line T1. It is scheduled to open in late 2018.
