The six-year turnkey contract encompasses all operating and maintenance functions, including preparation of the network for start-up, scheduling, training, and maintenance of rolling stock, infrastructure and facilities.

The base cost of the contract is $US 570,000 for the startup year and $US 3.2m for the first full year of operations, increasing to $US 3.7m in the sixth year of operations if contractual performance standards are met.

The $US 131m network will comprise two loop lines. Line 1 will be a 7.8km north-south loop connecting Bricktown and the business district with Automobile Alley and St Anthony Hospital Campus. Line 2 will form a 3.3km-east-west loop linking Bricktown with Chesapeake Energy Arena and Cox Convention Center.

The network will operate between 06.00 and 00.00 Monday - Thursday and between 06.00 and 02.00 on Friday and Saturday.

Services will be operated by a fleet of seven three-section Liberty low-floor LRVs, which are being supplied by Brookville Equipment. The vehicles will be equipped with batteries for catenary-free operation.
