POLISH tram manufacturer Modertrans unveiled its first 100% low-floor tram, the Moderus Gamma, at its plant in Poznan on November 18.

The 32m-long vehicle accommodates up to 244 passengers, 63 of them seated, including three on folding seats. Features include anti-collision radar and a pneumatic levelling system which maintains a constant floor height regardless of load.

The wheelchair-accessible Moderus Gamma is air-conditioned and equipped with USB ports and LCD passenger information systems.

Modertrans developed the Moderus Gamma in cooperation with Poznan University of Technology as part of the Innovative City Tram project, which has been jointly financed by Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development and the European Union.
