The 42.1m-long bidirectional vehicles will be delivered by 2017 and will provide the additional fleet capacity required for a 7km extension from Lagunen to Flesland Airport. Each seven-section vehicle will accommodate up to 280 passengers, 98 of them seated.

The second phase of Bergen's light rail line was inaugurated on June 22, extending the route 3.6km south from Nesstun to Radal.

Stadler already maintains the Bergen Variobahn fleet and says it has achieved availability of more than 99%.
