Pesa bid Zlotys 377.4m ($US 119.2m) for the contract, while competitors Solaris and CAF submitted offers of Zlotys 481.4m and Zlotys 573.2m respectively. The bids were scored up to 60% on price and 40% on technical parameters.

The 32.5m-long vehicles will be equipped with air-conditioning, CCTV, and modern passenger information systems and will be delivered within 15 months of contract signing.

Warsaw Tramways already operates a sizeable fleet of Pesa vehicles and recently received the last of 186 30.1m-long five-section Swing 120Na LRVs, which were ordered in May 2009 at a cost of Zlotys 1.5bn.
