Subsidiary company Powerlines Products will supply overhead catenary and cantilevers, clamps, switches, motorised switch controls and tensioning for two light rail lines totalling 23km under construction in Izmir and a depot. Flat chain catenary with 1400 GRP cantilevers will be installed.
Powerlines will also supply overhead catenary, 500 GRP cantilevers, clamps, switches, motorised switch controls and tensioning for the electrification of a new 13km line and depot in Izmit.
This is Powerlines Products' third Turkish light rail contract. Electrification equipment was supplied in November 2013 for an LRT extension in Bursa, and in December 2014 for a project in Konya.
