The base order for 35 unidirectional vehicles will comprise 27 25m-long LRVs, which will be 65.5% low-floor, and eight 32m-long trams with a 74.1% low-floor section. The contract includes an option for up to five additional 25m-long vehicles. Delivery of the base order will be completed in 2020, with a September 2022 deadline for delivery of the optional vehicles.

Pesa submitted a bid of Zlotys 271.8m ($US 78.7m) for the contract, while competitor Stadler-Solaris offered a price of Zlotys 280.1m.

In addition, TS signed a Zlotys 29m contract with Modertrans, Poland, on March 8 for 10 single-section Moderus Beta trams. Eight of the 50%-low floor vehicles will be unidirectional.

The vehicles will be built at Modertrans’ plant in Poznan and deliveries will be completed by June 2020.
