STRASBOURG Transport (CTS), France, has issued a call for tender for a framework contract for the supply and possible maintenance of a fleet of light rail vehicles.

CTC requires a minimum of 12 LRV initially and up to 38 additional vehicles which will be decided in early 2016. The additional LRVs will be needed to operate on an extension to Koenigshoffen in the north of Strasbourg and to cope with traffic growth.

The contract will include a provision to maintain the LRVs for between 10 and 15 years.

CTS opened two extensions to its light rail network on November 29 comprising a 1km addition to Line A and 3km extension to Line D with a total of five new stations.
