The contract encompasses the construction of twin-bore tunnels using TBMs, cross passages, and station boxes on the eastern segment of the 11km underground section between Manshiyya/Neve Tzedek in Tel Aviv and Geha Interchange. The 24km Red Line will link Tel Aviv's mainline station in Petah Tikva with Bnei Brak, Jaffa, and Bat Yam with 34 stations, 10 of them underground. Services will operate at 3-6 minute intervals and ridership is forecast to be around 70 million passengers per year. Commercial services will begin in 2021.
