PASSENGER operations began on January 18 on the two-line Optics Valley Tramway network, which serves the Donghu New Technology Development Zone southeast of Wuhan.

The 45-station network comprises the 16.8km north-south Line T1 from Huazhong University to Fuzoling, and the 19.6km east-west Line 2 from Tangxunhu City railway station to Optics Valley Botanical Garden. The two lines share a 2.5km central section of track.
