These tests covered the unit's resilience in ice, snow and extreme heat. Among the tests conducted in these difficult conditions were starting up the locomotive, checking the unobstructed view through the front window and the functioning of the coupling.

The locomotive was tested at temperatures ranging from -35°C to 45°C and wind speeds of up to 200km/h, with a particular emphasis on whether the air-conditioning unit and the Flex Panel were able to function in the extreme conditions.
