THE 100th Siemens Vectron electric locomotive for European Locomotive Leasing (ELL) was officially handed over to Austrian rail freight operator LTE in a ceremony at Vienna Freudenau intermodal terminal on January 19.

ELL’s entire fleet consists of Vectrons, with a total of 108 locomotives in service or on order, including ac and multi-system variants. The locomotives are used by a variety of open-access freight operators as well as passenger operators Czech Railways (ČD) and RegioJet.

The latest unit for LTE is the first ELL Vectron equipped to operate in all countries between Romania and the Netherlands. LTE will use the locomotive, which has been named the Flying Dutchman, on the Rotterdam - Constanta corridor.
