First locomotive for Finland's Fennia Rail on test

The first of three six-axle type 774.7F locomotives being supplied by CZ Loko, Czech Republic, to Finnish open-access operator Fennia Rail was delivered to the Velim test track in the Czech Republic for testing in late July.

The 90km/h 1.55MW single-cab diesel-electric units have been rebuilt from Czech class 770 locomotives with Caterpillar CAT 3512 C HD engines, which are compliant with European Stage 3a emissions standards.

The 1524mm-gauge locomotive is being tested on standard-gauge bogies at Velim.
