The order is an option from an initial contract for five multi-system locomotives, which was signed April 2016.

The 6.4MW ETCS-equipped locomotives are due to be delivered in late 2017 and early 2018.

ČD Cargo says its existing Vectrons are covering more than 700km a day, and from June the locomotives will be used on intermodal trains from Brno in the Czech Republic to the German port of Rostock.
