Siemens will deliver 10 6.4MW multisystem locomotives for operation “from the Netherlands to southeast Europe” by the end of this year. A further 10 6.4MW multisystem locomotives for the Rhine-Alpine corridor and five 5.2MW 3kV dc units for use in Italy will be delivered in 2019.
All 25 locomotives will be equipped with ETCS.
Assembly will take place at Siemens’ Allach plant in Munich.
Siemens has now sold more than 700 Vectrons to 37 customers in 15 countries and the fleet has so far accumulated more than 110 million-km.
