The locomotives will be assembled at Stadler Rail Valencia's Albuixech plant in Spain and delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017, taking VFLI's Euro 4000 fleet to 17 units.
The six-axle Euro 4000 is equipped with EMD's 3.17MW-output turbocharged V-16 two-stroke 16-710 power unit with electronic fuel injection.
