The MTU 12V 4000 R84 engines will have a rated output of 1.8MW and emissions 50% below the levels required to comply with EU Stage IIIB.
Delivery is due to take place in 2017.

IRJ at InnoTrans 2016: Rolls-Royce Power Systems has signed a letter of intent with Vossloh Locomotives for the supply of 44 MTU Series 4000 engines, which will be used in the fleet of DE18 locomotives recently ordered by leasing company Akiem.
