One system is designed to broadcast audible prompts to the driver if an error is made or if the driver is operating the train poorly, for example by wasting energy or overloading the traction motors.

The system provides instant real-time feedback on driver infractions. The first application is with a railway in Indiana.

The other new product is designed to detect the unauthorised use of mobile phones by the driver. The system detects devices which transmit or receive mobile signals and once it has been ascertained that it is the driver who is using a mobile device without authority a camera in the cab will automatically record the incident.

The operator can decide what will trigger a potential safety violation, such as making or receiving calls, using portable Wi-Fi hotspots, or data transmission. The objective is to make the system as accurate as possible to avoid false alerts.
