The contract will include lines RB 45 (Chemnitz – Riesa – Elsterwerda, 1.1 million train-km per year), RB and RB 9 (Dresden – Chemnitz – Zwickau – Plauen – Hof fast services, 2.7 million train-km per year), and RB 30 stopping services (Dresden – Chemnitz – Zwickau stopping services, 1.9 million train-km per year).

The procurement is being led by Central Saxony Transport Authority (ZVMS) and the winning bidder will be responsible for providing rolling stock. The selection criteria are lowest-price only.
