Services will continue to be operated using LNVG’s fleet of double deck coaches powered by class 246 Traxx-DE locomotives as this was a condition of the contract award. DB operated services on the route before Metronom took over in December 2007.
Metronom will continue to operate Bremen - Hamburg and Göttingen - Hannover - Uelzen - Hamburg services.
DB Regio has recently won a number of contracts where it must use a train fleet provided by the tendering authorities; it will take over Hamburg - Westerland (Sylt) services in December using the existing fleet.
