The Telematics Applications for Passenger Services (TAP) Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) sets common technical standards for the European Union-wide exchange of rail traffic data. The partners say the TAP TSI Services Governance Association (TSGA) represents one of the most important milestones on the road to full implementation of this regulation, by making a further step towards digitisation. By ensuring widespread availability of basic ticketing information for train operators, the TSGA is expected to make travelling by rail more attractive.
“TAP TSI is the first and only European initiative in bringing together all relevant actors in ticketing in a trusting cooperation,” says DB’s CEO Dr Rüdiger Grube.
“This initiative shows that the European railways and the European Commission are working hand-in-hand to make rail travel a truly European experience by benefiting from digitisation,” says Mr Renato Mazzoncini, CEO of FS.
“Digitisation of the railway and the promotion of rail interoperability in Europe are among the top priorities for SNCF,” says SNCF’s CEO Mr Guillaume Pepy. “We call on all relevant stakeholders to join the union.”
