The concession is being launched by Mid-Saxony Transport Authority (ZVMS), which is managing the project, and Leipzig Local Transport Authority (ZVNL), and concerns Line R6 linking Leipzig, Grimma and Döbeln which accounts for about 1 million train-km per annum. The contract will run from June 12 2016 to December 13 2025.
The winner will be chosen on the basis of the lowest bid and will be obliged to negotiate with the current owner of the train fleet in operation on the line in order to take over responsibility for it.
