ISRAEL Railways has outlined plans to build a network of 11 lines totalling 475km to serve both Israelis and Palestinians living in the West Bank. However, construction priorities and costs have yet to be determined.

Jerusalem is the only city in the area currently served by rail, and the new lines would extend south to Bethlehem and Hebron, east to Jericho, and north to Ramallah, Ariel, Nablus, Jenin and Tul Karm. There would also be a line running along the border with Jordan.
