The order comprises seven Link II two section articulated dmus with 140 seats and two Link III three section dmus with 200 seats. Each 140km/h train has two MTU diesel power packs meeting the latest EU level IIIb emissions standards.
NEB secured the contract from Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) in February and will operate the services up to 2024. The new Pesa trains will also be used on the proposed extension of some Kostrzyn services to Gorzow which are planned by German and Polish transport authorities in the future through a joint operation between NEB and a Polish operator.
