The contract covers the operation of 1.9 million train-km per year on lines RB 46 (Cottbus - Forst) and RB 65 (Cottbus - Görlitz - Zittau), two routes which are already operated by ODEG.
The company will continue to operate Siemens Desiro DMUs (pictured) on the two lines, but the trains will be upgraded with improved passenger information systems and free passenger Wi-Fi. There will be a visible staff presence on all services.
The contract also includes more through services between Zittau and Cottbus, reducing the need for passengers to change trains at Görlitz
